Everything You Need To Know About General Hospital’s Newest Addition

She’s finally here! General Hospital’s Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) finally welcomed their newest child in the world, Donna Corinthos. And yes, she’s just as beautiful as you would expect her to be!

General Hospital writers named the baby after Donna Messina, the beloved head of the General Hospital hair and makeup department. She passed away back in 2018.

However, Sonny and Carly told their children and the rest of the family that little Donna was named after someone from Sonny’s old Brooklyn neighborhood.

“Donna Messina was a great lady from the old neighborhood,” Sonny explained to Josslyn and Michael on the show. “People loved her or hated her, sometimes both. We love Donna because she was kind and loyal and… she knew how to keep a secret. You could talk to her about anything, your problems, who you loved, your fears… and she would just listen. She wouldn’t judge and she wouldn’t tell a soul. She was tough as nails, she had no patience for fools, and if you were annoying she’d get in your face. And she hated bullies, no matter young or old, didn’t matter. And she was fearless. But… most of all, she was kind, loyal, generous… one of the greatest things about her was… she could always make you smile no matter how you’re feeling. That was just the way she was.”

It’s without a doubt that we will be seeing much more of Donna in the coming weeks as Sonny and Carly adjust to their new life with their newborn. As a matter of fact, General Hospital spoilers tease that there might even be some major drama long the way. After all, this is going to be a new adjustment for them, as they have never raised a special needs child in the past. Needless to say, fans will have to tune in for all of the action!
