Here’s Your First Look At Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Starring Angelina Jolie, HERE!

Maleficent is back and this time around she’s better than ever before. The new trailer for Disney’s much anticipated Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has just dropped and it’s already gotten fans very excited for the fall movie season.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil sees Hollywood actress Angela Jolie returning as the titular character along with Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora. The film has an all-star cast that also includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skerin, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.

The sequel picks up a few years after the events of the 2014 box office hit Maleficent. According to the new trailer, this film will focus on the power struggle between Maleficent and Michelle Pfeiffer’s character Queen Ingrith. The pair appear to be at odds and ready to fight it out using any means available to them. Princess Aurora is planning a wedding to Queen Ingrith’s son Prince Philip and it looks like it’s going to be one family reunion gone wrong! According to a synopsis, the film will “explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”

“You have done an admirable job going against your own nature to raise this child,” Queen Ingrith tells Maleficent in the clip. “But now, she will finally get the love of a real mother. Tonight, I consider Aurora my own.”

It doesn’t take very long for Maleficent to “lose it” so to speak and before you know it, the two have started a war. At the very end of the trailer, fans get to find out that Maleficent isn’t the only one of her kind. As a matter of fact, she’s got quite the family!

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is expected to hit theaters on October 18th. The film is one of several live-action Disney projects out this year, including the recent remakes of Aladdin and The Lion King.
