Vacasa Rental Review: Our Home Away From Home in Kissimmee, Florida

Is there a better winter vacation spot than Florida, or more specifically Orlando, Florida? Especially for a family, there may not be a more deserving place for a winter getaway area considering that Walt Disney World is located there.

And like any vacation, in order to have the best time possible you need to have the best lodging possible. As a family of 5, we really value having the amenities we have at home on the road. We need to store food since there’s always someone that’s hungry, or thirsty and we also need multiple bathrooms, as well as spacious and comfortable sleeping quarters. Being comfortable when we’re traveling is what allows us to do some of the fun things that you see us do on Youtube.

This is why we partnered with Vacasa, which is also North America’s largest full-service vacation rental management company. Vacasa started in 2009 with a vision to drive unbeatable revenue for their homeowners, and create unforgettable experiences for their guests. Since they emphasize the home living feel away from home, we thought there was no better or more appropriate opportunity to showcase what comfortable living away from home is like.

About our Stay at Windsor Grand in Kissimmee, Florida

Our stay was so comfortable in Orlando that we were left wondering if we could swap our house for the one we had. Seriously, we loved it that much! Vacasa implements industry-leading technology and has dedicated local teams in the markets where they’re present which helps them bring professionalism and ease to every vacation rental experience. What’s really great about the Vacasa team is that they invest in people first and foremost, which is why they’re able to provide the unforgettable experiences their guests should always benefit from at their home away from home.

We stayed at the Windsor Grand in Kissimmee, Florida, for a week courtesy of Vacasa and we loved every second of it! This massive house in a gated community provided the most comfortable housing we could hope for: With 5 spacious rooms scattered across two floors, and each room with its own bathroom, this Vacasa rental can house 12 people if needed – more than double our sizeable family. We ended up not even using the two massive bedrooms upstairs since it was so spacious and comfortable downstairs.

The house also contains a huge, open-concept kitchen next to the living room, that’s comfortable enough for a while family to eat in and inviting enough to make you want to cook at least some of your meals at home. The house also has a garage that’s been conveniently turned into a playroom containing a pool table, a foosball table as well as a poker table for the grown-ups, when the kids go to bed.

The Windsor Grand also has a spacious pool in the backyard although, sadly, we were unable to take advantage due to the weather. Although the weather in Orlando in December is unbelievable, especially compared to our native Montreal, Canada, it was just a tad too cold during our stay. Alas, you can never have it all in life, can you?

The gated resort community also has fun things for the whole family to do. On non-sightseeing or Disney days, take advantage of the 10,000 square foot clubhouse featuring a large zero entry pool, waterslides, water playground, and splash pad, movie theater, ping pong, video arcade, and billiards. In addition, there are playgrounds, basketball court and tennis courts on the premises.

Lastly, the property is centrally located in Kissimmee, meaning you’re never too far away from anything. A 5-minute drive brings you to a massive Walmart that is open at all times of the day and restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes. Best of all, the home is only a 10-minute drive to the main gate of Walt Disney World. We literally felt like we were staying inside Disney.

Vacasa vs Airbnb: Some Things You Need To Know About Vacasa, and Differences Via Airbnb

Some of you might have been reading this post until this point while wondering just what exactly is Vacasa or that it sounds eerily similar to another company you heard of, namely Airbnb.

Whereas Airbnb is more like a listing service with individual listers taking care of some parts of the rental process, like housekeeping, themselves, Vacasa, on the other hand, takes care of the entire Vacation Rental process for their guests. What this means for guests is that they can expect service quality unlike any other, and a lot of this has to do the emphasis on having local teams in the markets they serve to facilitate the rental process.

In more general terms, Vacasa provides vacation rental housing with over 11,500 rentals in the U.S., Europe, Central, and South America, as well as South Africa. Vacasa is present in 27 states in the U.S. and over 18 countries worldwide.

In terms of Windsor Grand property, here’s the description from Vacasa’s website: Nearby access to one of the best amusement parks in the world awaits you at this home in Kissimmee.

From a day at Disney World to perks like a private pool and spa, the perfect Florida getaway is at your fingertips. You’ll be part of an exclusive gated community with a fantastic location. Walt Disney World is six-and-a-half miles away, putting it all only minutes from your door. And on your way back home, visit Kissimmee proper to unwind by the shores of the lake.

After a long day out, unwind in the spa or the pool. Back inside, the living area is perfect for relaxing with free WiFi and cable on the flatscreen TV, while the shared game room features a pool table, poker table, and foosball (as well as a video arcade room and a movie theater). When it’s time for dinner, use the kitchen’s stainless steel appliances to whip up something tasty.

To learn more about renting the Windsor Grand on your next family vacation check out the listing on the Vacasa website. From there, you can read other reviews and see a full list of amenities that are included. You can also search for Vacasa properties in your destination of choice.

Disclaimer:  Vacasa graciously hosted our 8-day stay in order to facilitate this review. Although, the opinions within this post are my own.
