Make Your Own Minions Oreo Cookies

 
Do you have a Minions fan in your house? I know my 6-year-old daughter loves the small yellow creatures and has watched every Despicable Me film!
 
In anticipation, of the upcoming release of  Despicable Me 3 on Blu Ray December 5, I have created these easy-to-make Minions Oreo Cookies.  Kids will love decorating their own Minion and the enjoying a sweet Minion snack while watching the flick! 
 
Ingredients
 
1 package of double stuffed Oreos
1 bag of yellow candy melts
1 package of small edible candy eyes
1 tube of black cookie icing
1 tube of grey cookie icing 
2 pots (same size)
1 cookie sheet
parchment paper
 
Directions 
 
1. Add water to one of the pots and place on the stove on medium to high heat
 
2. Once the water starts to simmer, place the second pot on top
 
3. Add the yellow candy melts to the top pot and mix until completely melted
 
4. Drop an oreo cookie into the candy melt and coat the cookie fully.
 
       
 
5. Using a fork, gently pick up the oreo and lightly tap the edge of the pot to get rid of excess candy melt
 
6. Place onto the cookie sheet with the parchment paper
 
7. Repeat coating steps until all the candy melt is gone 
 
8. Let sit for 10 minutes for the candy melt to harden 
 
9. Using the grey cookie icing, pipe on a small dot on the back of the eyes and place the eyes on the oreo
 
 
10. Pipe the grey icing around the eyes to make the glasses frame. 
 
 
11. Using the black icing, add a smile, some hair to some of the Oreos and the side frame of the glasses
 
 
12. Let sit for 30 minutes before enjoying!
