Kendra Wilkinson loves to tell it like it is, no matter how good, bad or ugly it might be. The former reality television star, model and celebrity mom says that she has no shame when it comes to her parenting style or her mistakes, for that matter. She shares two children, Hank Jr. 7, and 3-year-old Alijah with her husband, Hank Baskett.
Speaking to People Magazine, Kendra says that she has a very blunt approach when it comes to how she parents her two children. In other words, she plans on always being very honest with her kids and answering all kinds of questions they might have, no matter how tough they may be.
She told the publication, “That’s how we’re gonna work through our lives. I’m here to listen to him and talk to him and my daughter. They’re just the most amazing kids and they’re ready, you know, they’re happy, they’re very fulfilled as children. They’ve got their childhood. They’re living like children. They dress like children. They have minds like children, but they’re very advanced for their age when it comes to just understanding life and understanding reality.”
The celebrity mother also says one of the reasons why she’s so protective but open about her kids is because of her broken relationship with her own father, Eric. Kendra just recently reconciled with her estranged father after not speaking to him for nearly 20 years. That’s why she’s doing whatever it takes to be a positive influence for her kids.
Kendra added, “At the end of the day, I’m not going to hide anything. I’m very upfront. My kid has questions now … and it’s life and if he wants to know reality, then I’m going to give him reality — I’m not going to sugarcoat anything, That’s just the way I live.”
