Elementary Star Lucy Liu Is A First Time Mom: Introduces Newborn Baby Rockwell Lloyd On Instagram

Elementary star Lucy Liu is officially a mom! We were just as shocked as you, seeing as how we don’t remember ever hearing she was pregnant nor seeing a baby bump. According to Lucy Liu’s rep, her baby boy was born via a surrogate mother on Thursday August 27. Lucy Liu’s rep shared this statement with Page Six: “I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier.”

Lucy Liu took to Instagram and shared an adorable photograph of her holding her newborn baby boy and captioned it, “Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In love!” Somehow the 46 year old actress managed to keep the pregnancy and her surrogate mother a secret this entire time! Surrogacy is becoming more and more popular in Hollywood, especially for women like Liu who find their biological clock ticking away – and wake up one day and realize they are nearly 50 and haven’t started a family yet.

Lucy Liu has always been very secretive when it comes to her personal life and romantic life – so we’re not even sure if there is a significant other in Lucy’s life right now to help her raise the baby, or if she is going to be a single mother. Regardless, we are sure the Elementary star will be a wonderful mom and we can’t wait to learn more about her precious baby boy Rockwell Lloyd Liu. Congratulations Lucy!
