For many kids the most important part of going to Disneyland is seeing their favorite characters. Knowing how to see more characters in Disneyland is key to keeping your kids happy, while still enjoying a great day in the park. There are a few simple tips that will help you spot your favorite characters along the way.
Character Breakfasts. The number one easy way to meet a Disney famous character is to head out early in the morning to a Character breakfasts. You can go to the Storytellers Cafe at Grand California Hotel, the Disneyland Hotel breakfast or the Plaza Inn off Main Street in the park every day until around 11am to meet popular and favorite characters. Check the schedule to verify times and find out what characters will show up.
Stop by Main Street between 10am-12noon. Usually the area in front of the train depot on Main Street is a great place to catch Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and more during these hours. There will be one stationed in front of the Depot, one by the Disneyland Emporium, one near Mad Hatters and sometimes one other character nearby. There will be a line to see them, but usually the lines move fast during these hours.
Check out the main entrance area late afternoon. Outside Main Street right after you go through the main entrance to the park you’ll often find your favorite Disney princesses in the late afternoon hours. Between 3pm-5pm you are more likely to meet up with Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White or Sleeping Beauty.
Fantasy Faire. This area at the entrance to Fantasyland is a great little theater that often has Anna, Elsa, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and more. Shows throughout the day make it a great place to spot a favorite character.
The bathrooms near the Plaza Inn. There is a cast area behind the bathrooms near the Plaza Inn that is between Main Street and Tomorrowland. You can sit in this area for an hour nearly any time of day and easily see at least one character pass through on their way to the cast area. You won’t get them to stop for pictures during this time, but you may get to grab some candid shots as they walk through.
Go to parades. There is the early evening parade as well as the later night electric parade to attend on Main Street. Both give you a great chance at seeing your favorite characters. You won’t get photo opportunities up close, you can see them, wave at them and grab candid shots as they move through the parade route on their float. Get there early and grab a spot right on the edge of the route so you can be close enough for great views.
These tips for how to see more characters in Disneyland will help you to give your kids the best experience ever while in the famous happiest place on earth. For many children Disneyland is less about the rides and more about the characters. If that is the case, these tips will leave you with happy children and an easy schedule to make that happen.
