Cate Blanchett who expanded her family via adoption last month, with husband, Andrew Upton has opened up about their decision.
“There’s a lot of children out there who don’t have the good fortune that our biological children do, so it’s wonderful,” Blanchett told Sky News at the Sydney premiere of Cinderella on Sunday.
The married couple chose to adopt a little girl they name Edith Vivian Patricia Upton.
“It’s wonderful to welcome a little girl into our fold,” Blanchett gushed. “We’re besotted.”
She added, “Fourth time around, it’s extraordinary.”
Blanchett conceived her first three children, Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 6, naturally.
She and Upton married in 1997.
