Sofia The First – The Curse of Princess Ivy DVD Review #Giveaway

Get ready for a new adventure with Sofia The First!

The popular Disney Junior show frequently airs special in which, Sofia’s amulet brings a Disney Princess to guide her with their wisdom when she needs it the most. In the new DVD, Sofia the First – The Curse of Princess of Ivy, Sofia and her sister Amber are visited by Rapunzel, one of the most popular Disney Princesses in recent years. 

In this special, Amber becomes suspicious when she finds Sofia speaking to Clover and her other animal friends. She confronts Sofia and asks her about the Amulet of Avalor. Trusting Amber, Sofia reveals that the amulet is magical and sometimes brings Princesses to help her. Amber becomes jealous that Sofia gets to meet Princesses and snatches the amulet while Sofia is sleeping. Unfortunately, when she uses the amulet she unwittingly unleashes a curse that summons evil Princess Ivy, who threatens to destroy the amulet, seize the crown and turn the entire kingdom black-and-white! 

Amber and Sofia must go on adventure to retrieve the amulet and to defeat Princess Ivy. Amber learns an important lesson with the help of Princess Rapunzel. Rapunzel shows Amber that she can correct her past mistakes like Flynn Ryder did. In the end, Amber learns love, trust, and unselfishly putting others’ needs first can truly work magic!

My 3-year-old daughter, Ava, loves everything Tangled. We first watched the Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy when it aired on Disney Junior in November. Unsurprisingly, it delivered the series’ #2 telecast of all time and the #1 evening preschool telecast year to date. Ava loved the adventure and the fun songs that came along with the episode. She particularly enjoyed the flying dragons singing number! 

In celebration of the February 24th release of  Sofia the First – The Curse of Princess of Ivy on DVD, we had a Sofia The First activity day. Ava personalized a fun Sofia The First mirror from the Disney Store and had fun using the Sofia The First stationary while watching the special.
