Kids love to snack on sweet treats! My daughter loves ice cream, but I don’t want her indulging in sugar loaded store bought variations of her favorite treat too often. That’s why I love this homemade Banana Strawberry ice cream that actually tastes a lot like sorbet. The ingredients are fresh and I don’t add sugar to the ice cream.
Ingredients
2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
3/4 C. of fresh strawberries, sliced and frozen
3-4 tbs. of milk (you could substitute almond milk or water if needed)
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Separate the banana slices and strawberry slices and freeze 6-8 hours.
Place the frozen bananas, strawberries, milk and vanilla in a food processor and blend. I found that blending the frozen berries and then letting them sit 5 minutes and blending again helped a lot. Add more
milk/water as needed.
The mixture will turn into a sorbet/ice cream consistency.
Scoop and serve. Cover any remaining portions and keep in the freezer.
*Makes 3-4 servings.
Enjoy!
