Fall Halloween Craft: Pumpkin Votive Holder

Fall is just around the corner, so why not get into the spirit with a little fall crafting? You can make your own pumpkin votive holder just like the one you see here, using just a few simple supplies and a baby food jar. Take a look at how to get started so you can get into the spirit of all things fall today!

Supplies needed:
Small glass jar. A baby food jar works great!
Orange craft paint
Paint brush
Black craft paper
Glue
Votive (battery operated is preferred)
Twine or ribbon

Directions:
1. Begin by washing out your jar well and drying it with a dry cloth. Remove any labels that may still be intact on the jar. Warm water and soap typically does the job.
2. Pour some orange paint into the jar and move it around with your brush. You may have to apply several coats to cover the glass. Allow the coats to dry in between applications for best coverage.
3. You can now apply the face of your pumpkin. Cut an eyes and mouth out of black craft paper. Apply it to the front of the votive holder with craft glue.
4. Finish off the votive by tying some twine or ribbon around the neck of the jar.

To use your pumpkin votive holder, drop the votive inside and enjoy. A battery operated votive works great and is a safer option to consider.
