Back To School Shopping With My RBC Rewards #RBCRewards101

It’s-back to-school season and that means a whole list of new expenses for mom and dad. It truly doesn’t matter the age of your child, as long as their in school this time of year is expensive! My daughter Ava, who attends pre-school three days a week even needs to bring certain items to school at the beginning of the year. Besides that, being a growing three year old she is basically needs new clothes each season.

As a parent, I know these are normal expenses, but when I’m doing my back-to-school shopping I try to save as much as possible. One secret of mine, is to take advantage of the reward points I earn with my RBC visa card. I tend to be one of those people who charges everything to my credit card and then pay it back at the end of the month. That’s why I love being a RBC rewards member, because I earn at least 1 RBC Reward point per dollar spent when using my card. It’s unbelievable how fast the rewards build up! The reward points can redeemed at RBCrewards.com for merchandise through the reward eMall, gift cards and Best Buy/ Future Shop products.

This back-to-school season, I chose to redeem my reward points for a Visa Gift card. Once I received the card, I waited till the GAP had a huge sale and then I went on a little shopping spree! I bought Ava an entire fall wardrobe and I didn’t have to put a dime down. Taking advantage of my RBC Reward point, definitely helped stretch my back- to-school budget.

Have you started your Back to School To Do list yet? Check RBCrewards.com and see the variety of stores to shop at online through the site. You can even earn extra points by shopping through the reward eMALL.

To give you more inspiration on how to use your RBC Reward points, RBC has also created a ‘how-to’ video. Check out the videos here!
