What kid doesn’t love Dinosaurs?
Till recently there wasn’t a lot of learning sources for little kids when it came to discovering Dinousaurs. Most books are aimed at children above the age of six. That’s why I really love the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Dinosaurs. This book by Catherine D. Hugues, is written for pre-kidgerdenten and elementary aged children who love dinos.
The 52 dinosaurs are separated according to size – small, big, giant and gigantic in the book which is a perfect way to foster better understanding for young children. Each spread features a different dinosaur with illustrations, fun facts with age-appropriate information, name pronunciation guide, and interactive questions. The text is simple and in big type which is also perfect for new readers.
There is also a list of activities at the very end of the book to help parents extend their child’s dino experience. The activities promote various skills – math, time, imagination, motor skills alphabet, categorizing, crafts, shapes and more.
The prehistoric world also comes alive with with the stunning illustrations by Franco Tempesta who also illustrated National Geographic Kids The Ultimate Dinopedia. The dinosaurs are colorful and not too scary looking for small children.
This hardcover book can be bought at the National Geographic store and Amazon
