‘Tis the Season to Be Frazzled

With the holidays fast approaching and busy schedules parent’s become flustered and forget the true meaning of spending time with their kids. When you become frazzled, it’s time to step back and delegate responsibilities.

The best way to delegate is to follow these eight easy steps:

Divide your time. When you divide your time, you don’t have to rush through the holidays. Remember to slow down. As a parent, you main time consumption should be your child or children, not a hundred things on your to-do-list. Make an effort to spend most of your time with your family.

Employ others. When the hustle and bustle of the holidays get to you, employ others to help. Get older kids or your spouse to lend a hand. Remember, you can’t do it all by yourself. Not only will you become stressed, but your family will suffer as well.

Limit yourself. During the holiday season, you have to realize you’re not Super Parent. You’re only human with human strength. Parent’s tend to want to get it all done in a day, but all that’s gets done is your nerves. Step back from the situation and limit what you try to do in a day. Don’t spread yourself thin.

Enjoy your family. The holidays can drive you crazy. Just the thought of shopping and cooking can make you a frazzled wreck. When you’re frazzled, your family is as well. The holidays are a time of joy and peace. Step back from your holiday duties and enjoy your family.

Get away. If you’re feeling frazzled, get away. Take a mini staycation. Find a quite place to relax and unwind. When stress builds, you’ll explode and your family will suffer. Don’t let the stress of the holidays stress you out.

Avoid overdoing it. Most of us overdo it during the holidays. We want to please everyone, but when we do is wind up overdoing it. You don’t have to be a crowd pleaser to enjoy the holidays. All your family wants is to spend quality time with you.

Tune out the negatives. From kids to relatives, the stress level explodes off the charts. ‘Tis the season to be frazzled, but if you tune out the negatives then you can have a season of peace, joy, and harmony. Nothing says the holidays than a festive season.

Enjoy yourself. During this holiday season enjoy yourself. You don’t have to put everything aside, but take the time out of your busy holidays to take time for yourself.
