Is the world ready for another Simon Cowell?

In a new interview with Extra‘s Terri Seymour, the X Factor judge revealed that he’d like to pass on his name to the son he’s expecting with girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

“My number one choice is Simon because I like the name,” he told.

His second choice is Eric, the same name as his father.

“His birthday is going to be very close to my dad’s birthday,” Cowell explained of his future bundle of joy.

Cowell says he is going to take a laid-back approach to parenting.

“Be cool about it. You know, don’t worry about things too much,” he told. “The way me and my brother were brought up, I mean, it was kind of relaxed. There were no self-help books or any of that crazy stuff.”

The former American Idol join also wants his son to follow in his footsteps one day.

“I want to teach him how to do my job as quickly as possible,” he joked of his son. “I want to pass the reins over. I really would like the idea of teaching him how to run the business.”
