Waiting For My Dream Kitchen! #FinishYourKitchen

I’m a stay-at-home mom and a lover of food, so I naturally spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Not only do I cook all my 2-year-old daughter’s  food, but I also create ‘gourmet’ meals over the weekend to unwind.  That’s why I am sad to say, my kitchen is anything but my dream kitchen!

Living in the city, my husband and I rent. Overall our apartment is nice, but the kitchen is in need of an update. Our landlord is less than enthusiastic about changing anything in our kitchen. The paneling on the cabinets are coming off and my counters don’t match! The last appliance I got in my kitchen was a second-hand stove! To say the least, I wasn’t as excited as the landlord.

Now that Ava has reached toddlerhood we are planning to move to the suburbs and buy our own house in a year or two. I think about my dream kitchen frequently. One where I have beautiful wood floors, cream colored cabinets, marble counters and stainless steel appliances. A kitchen straight out of a fancy home design magazine! Realistically speaking, I’ll be lucky to get just one of these things when we buy our first house. A girl can dream though, right?

In my dream kitchen the surroundings would be visually appealing with the cream colors and natural light. Making food would be more enjoyable! I see myself now, making gnocchi (pictured above) and feeling like a real chef in a beautiful kitchen!

For now, I will have to be satisfied with the one thing I do own in my kitchen – my dishwasher! I can’t imagine how many hours I would spend cleaning without one. We dirty dishes at an unimaginable rate and Finish Powerballs are my go-to detergent. Not only do they clean my dirty dishes great, but they come out sparkly and lemony fresh!
