I am very conscious of the skincare products I put on my daughter, Ava. I may not be the most eco-friendly mom in the world, but I am aware of the harsh chemical skincare companies put in their products. I only use products that are 100% natural on Ava.
I really can’t comprehend how companies can put such harsh chemicals in skincare lines for babies and young children. Baby and toddler skin is not as resistant as adult skin. It can be up to ten times thinner and is damaged easily. Therefore, anything you but on your infant/toddler is absorbed that much more.
I recently had the pleasure of trying the baby line of LAVANILA Laboratories. After constantly hearing amazing reviews, I decided to try out this clinically tested, and all-natural skincare line.
The Healthy Baby Wash
The wash is a blend of soothing Coconut & Vanilla Oil with nourishing Calendula & Noni Juice to cleanse and soften sensitive hair and body. Their are no Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Silicone, Petrochemicals, Propylene glycol, Mineral oil, Formaldehyde, Synthetic fragrance or dyes in the product either.
Foam baby washes are my favorite. Having a daughter with really sensitive skin, I have learned these type of washes tend to be the most sensitive on a baby’s skin. The scent is very light and I would describe it as a very mild, but pleasant baby powder smell. I love that the wash is tear-free because my daughter has a nack for wiping suds in her eyes.
I never use baby washes on my daughter’s hair because I find they don’t clean her hair good enough. She was born with a very FULL set of hair. So, I can’t vouch for how well this wash cleans a baby’s hair.
The wash retails for $16. It’s not the cheapest, but not the most expensive all-natural wash you will find on the market.
The Healthy Baby Bottom – Diaper Rash Creme
This Diaper rash creme blends premium Zinc Oxide & Lanolin with healing Calendula and Noni Juice to protect sensitive skin, soothe redness, and instantly relieve diaper rash. Their are no Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Silicone, Petrochemicals, Propylene glycol, Mineral oil, Formaldehyde, Synthetic fragrance or dyes.
This creme is the standout of the two products. The consistency is rich and creamy, but not too thick, so the creme goes on smooth. I also love that the creme is fragrance free. I tend to hate most products that have a strong odor.
The best part obviously is that the diaper rash creme works great! It can clear all diaper rash problems and is also great to stop a full blown rash from happening. I apply the creme at the first signs of redness on my daughters sensitive bum.
I should note that the creme is a little more pricey compared to other diaper rash formulas ($15). Although, if you are in the market for an all-natural product that works great the price is certainly justifiable.
