When is the right time for Baby #2?

Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z who are reportedly expecting their second child!   If the reports are true, I am so happy for them and that means Blue Ivy is going to be a big sister!

It’s definitely a big decision when to start having children and even a bigger decision when to have baby #2, #3, or #4. There are a lot of factors go into that kind of decision…Is the family financially stable? Are you as a mom ready to be pregnant and go through childbirth again? Are you and your husband emotionally ready for another baby? How many years apart do we want to have our children?

I swear it wasn’t even a month after Baby C was born, people started asking us when we were going to have baby #2. I was still recovering from child birth and trying to get the hang of breastfeeding and the last thing on my mind was having another baby. It was about a week after he was born I remember thinking, will this “baby stuff” get any easier? Will I ever be able to sleep again?

A lot of our friends wanted to have their children close in age so that they can play together – there are a handful of them that have kids a year apart. The others want to have some space at least 2+ years so that they can enjoy their little one grow up. I know my hubby definitely wants to try for a girl but either way we would be happy with another happy, healthy baby when the time is right.

As much as I loved being pregnant and watching him kick and move in my belly, it is amazing to watch him now. He’s not crawling yet but he’s starting to scoot his little bottom so it should be soon! (By the way, we are finally getting around to baby proofing this weekend!) I can seriously spend all day just watching him play with his toys, roll around and cuddle with him that I can’t imagine having time for another one at this point – but if baby #2 is anything like Baby C then I can’t wait!
