CRAFTING: Planning a Superhero Party

I know he’s only six months but I’m getting a head start on planning his first birthday party. The first six months have flown by that I want to be sure I have enough time to plan an amazing party for our baby. I want to keep the party simple but have fun things for adults and kids to enjoy.

My husband and I were talking and we were still not sure on the theme but superheroes are definitely top on the list. The other ideas include Star Wars and dinosaurs. Pinterest is such an amazing place to get great ideas! I am inspired every time I log on. I typed in “superhero” and pages of cakes, crafts, cookies, cake pops and capes popped up!

To follow along the superhero theme, I’m thinking about making these capes for all the kids…and I was reminded by my husband that I need to make big kid capes for all the big “kids”. Thanks to Pinterest I found this website that has the logo patterns…now I just need to learn how to sew! I have six months right???

I also really like this idea possible for favors on the table. I was thinking it would say something like, “SUPER thanks for coming to my 1st birthday party!”

For props, I love this idea! I think it would be really fun for the kids (and adults) to take pictures in it. My husband likes to make things so I think I can convince him to make this…now we just need to find a painter!

And lastly, we can’t forget about the cake. Since we did cupcakes for our wedding, I was thinking of cupcakes instead of cakes too!

After pinning all of these super cute ideas, I think this is my favorite so far…we’ll see what the final theme will be!

What was the theme for your son or daughter’s first birthday party?
