Daddy plays on a co-ed softball league on Sundays so Baby C and I go and cheer him on. A majority of the players have babies between 5 months to 2 years old so it is fun for the kids to play together. I usually hang out with the kids or go for a walk with Baby C. Baby C loves the outdoors. He kicks his legs and has a high pitched coo when the wind blows through his hair. The warmer weather is so nice because we head to the park a little early and spend family time together.
Last Sunday, a few girls were not able to play so I filled in. I played a couple of years during high school but it was the first time I actually picked up a bat in over a year. My hubby is the pitcher so I got to play catcher. I didn’t make any crazy plays but I did get on base four out of the five times and made it home three times; pretty good for someone who really hasn’t sprinted or run since pre-pregnancy. This might be TMI but I didn’t realize how hard it is to run when you are breastfeeding – not at the same time of course! But, since I am breastfeeding my boobs felt so much heavier and it seriously felt like I had double Ds when I’m a B.
It was a close game but in the end we pulled through and won! Then we all celebrated by going out for pizza. I think that was the best part of the day – pizza with ham and pineapple, my favorite!
I had a lot of fun playing but next week I think I’m going to stick to mommy duty sitting in the bleachers and cheering with Baby C!
