Chris Daughtry Knows What Is Important In Life

Chris Daughtry knows what’s important in life. The ex-American Idol contestant and current world famous rocker, has found out that a difficult working schedule is not as important as his family and his social responsibility. “Being a father has made me grow up. Life is about more than just me. I’ve got a great wife, great kids, and a great life now,” the happy rocker told People magazine.

His two-year-old twins, Noah James and Adalynn Rose, have brought a sense of peace and human awareness to Daughtry. He recently teamed up with comic book company DC Entertainment to become an ambassador for the “We Can Be Heroes” campaign in order to assist with fighting hunger in the Horn of Africa.

 “I have been blessed a lot in life, and it’s the least I can do to give back. I always wanted to be a superhero. That’s why I work out so much. So teaming up with DC Comics or a charitable campaign just made sense to me,” says the lifelong comic fan.

The recent Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting also brought a sense of importance to Daughtry’s life and reminded him truly how important family is. He says to People magazine, “I’m not the type to give a lot of advice. But to be a good dad, you have to be present. When I’m home, I’m home. I don’t work at home unless it’s after the kids go to bed. I don’t want my kids to say, ‘My dad never had time for me.’ They understand that there is a time I have to work, but when I come home, they need my undivided attention. I try to make every moment count.”

We’ve always loved Daughtry’s personality and music, so seeing him in this altruistic state of mind only further made us enamored with him. Good on you, Daughtry!
