Honey Boo Boo Hits The Sparkle and Shine Pageant Stage

Thanks to the reality show, Toddlers and Tiaras, the crazy world of child beauty pageants has found its’ way into our homes on a weekly basis.  Honey Boo Boo, AKA Alana Thompson, was originally featured on the show until someone got the idea that this kid needed a spin-off.  In just a few short episodes Honey Boo Boo has become one of the most talked about reality stars right now.  Yesterday the six year old returned to the world full of hair spray, red lipstick and spray tans that has made her a household name.  In other words, she competed in The Sparkle and Shine Pageant on Saturday.

The itty bitty blonde took the stage in a red sequined, frou frou number and was cheered on by her coupon clipping mom, June, her dad, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, her three sisters, her one-month-old niece Kaitlyn, and her uncle “Poodle.” At the crowning ceremony Boo Boo was joined on stage by her former pet named “Glitzy”, a pig that she owned for about ten minutes.  At one point Boo Boo and her mom thought Glitzy would be her secret weapon in winning!
