According to a report by US Weekly, the news arrived via Instagram on Monday. One of them showed Eric crouching with his head against Jasmine’s baby bump. And others showed some maternity photos.

The outlet noted that the happy news arrived within one year of them tying the knot. If you can recall it, they surprised fans back in May last year, with a quiet ceremony.

Grandfathers Are friends

Apparently, comedian Eddie Murphy later joked about Martin Lawrence, who reportedly felt relieved he didn’t need to fork out a busload of cash for his daughter’s wedding.

Actually, both dads seem thrilled about the upcoming addition to the family. Martin also mentioned it on social media. For Martin Lawrence, it’s his first time at being a grandfather.

When Did Eric & Jasmin Meet?

Fans of the two men noted that back in 2021, Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence started dating. Although their dads are friends and well-known, the duo didn’t pair up through their dads. Instead, Jasmin revealed that they discovered each other when they met via an uncle. By November 2024, they decided it was time to get engaged.

Eric Murphy’s the oldest child of Eddie, who incredibly bred 10 kids. Eric’s a lot quieter than his dad, and seems to stay well away from any cameras. While he followed him into the entertainment world, he works voice overs and dialogue like the Beverly Hills Cop movie. Close to his dad, he seems intent on going his own way with his career.

Eddie’s Grandchildren 

Eddie already has three grandkids and the most recent pregnancy announcement apart from Eric and Jasmin happened in November last year. And that pregnancy is Bria Murphy’s. When grandchildren are on the horizon, it seems that the funny man is always thrilled.

While he’s not gonna do a Jim Bob Duggar on them, expecting moms in the family seems to be one of Eddie’s highlights. Naturally, fans probably wonder if the next newcomer will come out rolling with laughter, jokes, and one-liners. After all, both grandfathers are so successful in the comic world.
