The GH actor has teamed up with Nicole Maines and Chris Ables to create Truth Man—a daring new superhero already attracting attention for its contemporary approach to truth, justice, and identity. Each generation receives the heroes it requires, and for today’s audience, that hero might just be Truth Man.

Developed by Adam Huss, this new comic mixes heart, humor, and genuine honesty in a manner that feels less like a traditional superhero and more like a coming-of-age tale with superpowers. In many respects, Huss is to Truth Man what John Hughes was to teen films—connecting with the challenges, aspirations, and dreams of a generation while delivering unforgettable narratives.

Huss Is Producing, Under His And His Husband Adam Bucci’s Production Company

Huss is collaborating with his co-writer, Nicole Maines, and artist Chris Ables on this project- cover art is created by Zachary Brunner.

Bradley Bredeweg serves as the creative director and producer, completing their main creative team; the tagline for Truth Man is “In a world that fears the truth-he will wear it like armor.” Huss is producing the Truth Man franchise through Molecule Productions, the company he founded with his husband, Adam Bucci.

The story takes place in “an apocalyptic world where the inner ugliness of people has festered so deeply that it has overtaken their outer selves. They have transformed into full-on monsters, leading the world into chaos.

Outcasts On The Run Needing Saving By Truth Man

These are the people living on the edges of society, the outcasts who have resisted the system but struggle to defend themselves. In this context, a hero named Truth Man emerges, aware of his power to fight back and potentially motivate others to join him,” Huss stated in an interview with Soap Opera News.

The Truth Man comic serves as a precursor to Huss’s eagerly awaited film Original Tru, a coming-of-age romantic comedy, focusing on an unpopular gay teenager whose online comic about bullying.

Truth Man becomes a sensation, allowing him to change the social dynamics of his high school single-handedly. Huss shared with Parade that he drew inspiration from one of his favorite John Hughes films from the 80s, Pretty in Pink, featuring Molly Ringwald.

“She has this amazing quote in the film that gave me chills as a child, a little outcast trying to navigate middle and high school.

Her father, Harry Dean, asks her, ‘Why do you want to go to prom so badly; why go if they are so cruel and will hurt you?’ She replies, ‘I just need them to know they didn’t break me.’ That quote became much more than just a line in a movie for Huss. ‘I can say that at any time, anywhere, and I get goosebumps because that was my life, that’s how I always felt in school.

Adam Didn’t Want To Be Broken

I will show up because I didn’t want them to break me-and I want them to know they did not break me; it was hard because they often did break me.’ He mentioned that the line inspired this complex project, “I thought the idea was perfect for a queer kid growing up who is an artist in love with the untouchable baseball jock.

Then one day, he actually gets him; I thought it would be interesting if instead of being a dress designer, he was a comic book designer.

His comic book mocks the school to the extent that it reveals a major scandal-no one knows who is behind this comic, but it uncovers the scandal. The entire school hierarchy is turned upside down because Truth Man reveals these popular kids doing something outrageous that no one knew about.”

The Truth Man Comic Book Will Be Used In The Movie

The Truth Man comic book will be the actual comic featured in the movie; they are currently releasing panels that tell Truth Man’s origin story weekly on their Patreon

. There are various membership tiers, including a free option; the funds raised will support the movie’s production.

Once the origin story is completely released, they will proceed to the 12 full issues that will reveal the entire Truth Man narrative.
