Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer, Premier Date, Synopsis

Netflix dropped a trailer for Stranger Things Season 5 (The Final) this weekend. After the Tudum Event, three trailers arrived, and streaming TV viewers were also spoiled with a six-minute preview of Wednesday and Happy Gilmore 2. The Trailer Has Flashback Footage

Plenty of throwback scenes from Seasons 1 through 4 arrived, but new footage seemed very welcome. As for the premiere date, it comes split over three main holidays. There will be four episodes dropping on Netflix on November 26 (Thanksgiving). Then on Christmas Day, another three episodes will drop. The final, and it will be the forever final, will air on New Year’s Eve.

The trailer, of course, features Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown. However, Noah (Will Byers) gets plenty of footage as well. He’s seen literally screaming out “RUN!” and you better believe there’s a good reason for that. In The Upside Down, Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) see some scary things.

Eleven’s bleeding, crying, and yelling, and another scene shows Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) with a big ax. But for many fans who viewed the footage, it’s a delight to look back and see just how young the original cast was. Notably, it wasn’t a very extensive trailer and seemed more like a sneak peek.

Fans React 

Some fans weren’t happy about waiting for the final to arrive in three parts. Also, Thanksgiving feels like it’s still years away. However, the acting got their attention. Especially Noah screaming! One of them wrote, “The look on Will’s face when he screamed “RUN” gave me goosebumps. Noah put his all into that, JESUS!!!.”

• Finally! We get a trailer. I was hoping for a bit more. Most of it was just clips from previous seasons, but from the few new scenes shown? Yeah, I’m hyped

• I needed to see more of Season 5 not the previous seasons. Netflix & Duffer Brothers this better be a good season end.
• The scene with Mike protecting the group. He is back in his old form again. Ughhhh I can’t.

The Synopsis

As revealed by Netflix Tudum, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things begins in “the fall of 1987.” The official synopsis states that “Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna.” However, Vecna has “vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown.”

Adding to the challenge, the government has “placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.” With “the anniversary of Will’s disappearance” nearing, a “heavy, familiar dread” sets in.

The synopsis concludes, “The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
