Could Y&R Hayley Erin & Eric Braeden Be Related? Actress Explains Possible Family Link

The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that while Victor Newman may not love Claire Newman’s choices in men, he adores his newfound granddaughter.

Actress Hayley Erin recently caught up with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to talk about her character’s storyline and revealed an interesting connection she has with Eric Braeden.

Hayley Erin & Michael Mealor Talk Kylaire Issues

Michael Mealor, who plays Claire’s onscreen boyfriend Kyle Abbott, joined Hayley in the SOD interview as they talked about Kylaire romance and Victor’s disapproval.

In addition, the two chatted about Kyle’s attempt to win Victor over through his speech at Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) birthday bash, and the special gift he got Claire’s grandmother.

The topic turned to The Moustache’s disapproval, and the intensity within the scene, and then Erin brought up her work relationship with Braeden.

Hayley Erin & Eric Braeden’s Family Connection

Hayley tells SOD how much she loves working with Braeden and the special relationship they have. She notes that much like Braeden, her family lineage is from Germany, so she did a bit of research prior to working with Eric, as he is from Germany, too.

As it turns out, her family’s origins in Germany are a “stone’s throw” from where Eric is from, which shocked the iconic soap actor when she told him.

She adds they now often joke around about being related!

On a (somewhat) serious note, Hayley adds that Eric is “… an awesome scene partner, and I just love that you never know what you’re going to get from him. It really keeps you on your toes, and it makes every day so interesting and fun.”

Mealor chimed in, stating that Braeden is very fun to work with as “… you never know what you’re going to get from him because he’s always up for a good joke.”

Victor Newman, a jokester? Who knew?
