Young And The Restless Alum Victoria Rowell Shares Beyond the Gates Audition Story – Could She Debut On New Soap Soon?

Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest the land of Fairmont Crest may have looked very different to what it looks like now.

The Young and the Restless alum, Victoria Rowell, who played Drucilla Winters on the show (on and off) from 1990 to 2007, recently revealed she auditioned for a key role in BTG. With that said, could there be another opportunity on the soap for her?

Victoria Rowell As Anita Dupree?

During an interview with AP, Rowell states she was caught off guard when approached to audition for the BTG role of Anita Dupree.

After she submitted her tape, she didn’t hear back from CBS or the new soap, as the role ended up going to Tamara Tunie. Still, Rowell was quick to add that she believes Tunie is a ‘brilliant actress’.

However, could there be another opportunity for Rowell to appear on the new daytime drama?

Anita is currently attempting to reunite an old singing group she was a part of in the 1970s called The Articulettes. The all-girl group was composed of Anita, Tracy, and Sharon.

This week, Anita acknowledged that it may be hard to get the ladies together as she treated them poorly when she branched off into her solo career. In all fairness it does seem as if the singing group will end up coming together, so could Rowell play either Sharon or Tracy?

Rowell’s Soapy History

Beyond the Gates would be lucky to snag the soap legend. Rowell got her daytime drama start when she entered As the World Turns in 1988, playing Nella Franklin, and would move on to the Y&R. During her career the actress received three Daytime Emmy nominations for her Drucilla role, and 11 NAACP Image Awards.

As Beyond the Gates is still celebrating CBS’s announcement of renewing the soap for a Season 2, a great way to continue the show’s momentum would be by adding a power player like Rowell to their cast. Only time will tell.
