The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor’s Meddling Works – Adam’s New Approach Holds

The Young and The Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is notorious for sticking his fingers into everyone’s lives. But this time, his meddling worked perfectly.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) initially resisted his father’s suggestion that he move into the old Ranch house. He knew what pops meant, implying that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) would naturally follow in a reformed family.

Adam and Chelsea’s reconciliation happened in a matter of real- and soap-time that can be counted in weeks. This digital skip to a hoped-for outcome also reinforces that Grossman’s character has been written away from his vindictive efforts that had played out.

Victor Newman’s Namesake Isn’t Most Like Him

Each of Victor’s children is a reflection of him. It’s fair to say that Victor Adam Newman projected his father’s ruthless behavior code. But devoted fans can also cite Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) as like her dad because she has the best overall business sense and is the offspring Victor picked to head Newman Enterprises on more than one occasion.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shares more of his mother’s qualities than his father’s. He’s rejected a permanent place in the family business because he’s geared toward charitable endeavors, just like Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Although Nikki now heads Chancellor and is loving it.

Abby Newman Winters (Melissa Ordway) is a blend of her father and mother. She’s inherited an entrepreneurial business sense from both parents and veers more toward Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) softer side in approaching life.

The Young and The Restless: Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)

Adam Newman Was Affected By His Son

Adam developed his family grudge after returning to Genoa City, Wisconsin, in his early twenties. Victor embraced him following Hope Wilson’s (Signy Coleman) sad death. But Victoria and Nick’s territorial rejection of their so-called half-brother created a resonating response.

Eventually, Adam turned on his father. Aligning with Ian Ward (Ray Wise) to kill Victor and the other Newmans was classic soap, just as Adam’s partnering with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) reflected slick daytime plotting.

Adam’s epiphany happened when Connor was diagnosed with OCD. Only then did he see how a father reacts when his son is hurting, and he recognized what Victor was doing for all these soapy years.

Chelsea Lawson Sees A New Man

Chelsea hasn’t committed to the Adam she once fell in love with. She also isn’t attempting to revive the past.

Instead, Egan’s character recognizes that Adam has changed. She was infinitely affected by Connor’s diagnosis and response to that challenge. Chelsea and Adam reconnected in Baltimore, Maryland, because of their son’s situation and their remnant love.

It feels like this Chadam revival is different than past iterations. Here’s hoping that the freshness of this reformed family also means that Grossman and Egan are being given new stories to tell through their always-terrific performances.
