The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is relieved that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is home safe. He shared that feeling with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who is beginning to question Billy’s goals.

Billy Abbott Has A Long History

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is the woman Billy may always have the deepest ties to. They share children and were married twice.

However, there is no currency to Billy’s feelings for Victoria. He cares for her but is not in love.

Sally sensed that Billy was falling in love, especially after their trip to Paris, France. But his focus quickly shifted to rescuing Phyllis after they returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Plus, Sally is now wondering if Billy’s deep concern for Phyllis goes beyond her new role at Abbott Media.

Sally Spectra Still Suffering From Love Burns

Adam was a hard man for Sally to love. But she loves him still.

Grossman’s character knows he blew his second opportunity with Sally. Their first relationship ended badly, and they shared the devastation of losing a child, Ava, through miscarriage.

Accepting Adam back into her life wasn’t easy, but Sally got there. She crossed that emotional threshold because he appeared to have grown and learned. Yet, once again, he broke her heart when cheating with Chelsea in Baltimore, Maryland.

Adam’s actions were just too much, and Sally cut him off after he lied to her face about reconnecting with Chelsea. So, some of what happened with Adam is impacting her view of Billy.

Phyllis Summers Is Single And Vulnerable

The ordeal that Phyllis and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) endured produced a positive outcome overall. Phyllis and Sharon faced their decades-long rivalry and talked through some significant differences.

Most importantly, Phyllis and Sharon were forced to save each other’s lives and did. Each lady is just beginning to process the unresolved double kidnapping, with Sharon planning a family trip to Europe and Phyllis wanting to embrace her new job working with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and for Billy.

Phyllis’ vulnerable state and her proximity to Billy telegraph a lot of time together. Billy isn’t consciously looking to wrong Sally or become personally involved with Phyllis as he was years ago. But this is daytime drama, and the potential for that conflict offers many juicy plot opportunities.
