Amanda Halterman Shares Rare Reel Of Mom, Darlene

Amanda Halterman from 1000-Lb Sisters on TLC shared a reel of herself with her mom. In some ways, the social media post on March 22, 2025, was a bit cryptic, but fans seemed interested in it.

The Rare Footage On Facebook

The rare footage of Darlene came on Facebook. And in the reel, the older woman looked older than when fans met her on the show. Remember, Tammy and Amy Slaton met her for afternoon tea and Darlene didn’t think Tammy would ever lose weight. 

The caption on the reel said, “Me and momma always sneaking them in.” But, she didn’t say what they were sneaking. However, her mom had a cup that might have been from a take-out.

 Continuing, the TLC star wrote, “Sometimes, I gotta let her know ain’t nobody worried about other people’s opinions. We know who we are.”

More followed, and Amanda said, “That’s my momma, the only one I got.” She also talked about how there are other “role models” in her life, but she honors her mom.  “I’m grateful God built me in a way I can do that,” she concluded.

Fans React In The Comments

Amandah Halterman’s fans engaged with her in the comments section. Notably, they decided Amy Slaton looked a lot like her mom. One of them wrote, “Amy didn’t fall far from that tree,” and another one said, “…all I see is Amy! Wow! She is her Mama’s twin!”

More comments followed and here is a small sample of them:

• Preciate your mom while you got them because once there (sic) gone you regret it.
• Amy looks like a little younger version of her mom.
• Yes we don’t also have to like them but they are all we got. God tells us to honor them for sure.
• She needs to be on the show more!

One critic wondered where Amanda’s dad got to. 

Photos Of Her Dad

On March 18, Celeb Baby Laundry reported that Amanda Halterman shared several photos of her dad. In her caption, she explained that she and Chris Combs share the same dad. Misty, Tammy, and Amy Slaton have other fathers. From the tone of her post, it sounded as if her father, George, had either passed away or moved on many years ago.

In the comments, some fans expressed more interest in the family dynamics, and they want to see more of Darlene Rednour. However, it seems a bit unlikely with the focus on Tammy, Amanda, and Amy.

Still, these images of the parents might be a hint that the TLC show might delve more into the history of the family. There was talk at one stage, of another sibling who doesn’t appear on the show at all.
