The Young and The Restless: Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) got the chance she wanted. But Damian King (Jermaine Rivers) appeared to coldly reject the three reveals she told hi Damian’s half-brother, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) said, Amy dropped a lot on her son, and he was in shock.

So, Rivers’ character extended the behavior pattern that caused Amy to seek Nate’s help. She knew he wouldn’t be open to her contacting him directly.

The veil was dropped, and Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) no longer needed to pose as Damian. But Amy’s son raised his guard after only momentarily lowering it.

Damian King Does Have A Heart

Damian was affected when his mother told him she only has months to live. Her leukemia diagnosis is sobering and was not what he was expecting to hear.

Thankfully, Nate was willing to facilitate Amy’s request. Without that, she probably would have died with a hold in her heart.

It was so tense in Nate’s living room that Amy couldn’t breathe. She understandably didn’t realize that telling her estranged only child three pieces of life-changing information was too much. B

ut Nate’s presence and compassion create the likelihood that this complex family situation will resolve itself.

Sean Dominic Is Center Stage

It’s great to see Dominic being given a spotlight storyline to work. This solid actor joined the cast in 2019 and has created a layered version of the character longtime fans have known since Nate was a child.

Sean Dominic

Amy didn’t tell Damian the details. But Nate witnessed the tragic loss of Nathan Hastings (Adam Lazzare-White) decades ago.

The most memorable scene had Nathan returning Nate to his mother’s (Olivia Winters, played by Tonya Lee Williams) home when he was struck dead by a passing car.

Damian mentioned that he couldn’t bear to see another parent die, which means that he and Nate share a hard parental loss in common.

Nate’s restoration of his good name took time. But his cousins, Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), were willing to forgive his duplicitous business maneuvers. That’s another shared part of Nate and Damian’s backstories.

Amy Lewis Will Achieve Her Goal

Amy wants to ensure that her son not only knows the whole truth but also that he isn’t alone. Viewers suspect that Rivers wasn’t cast for a few-episode run. Instead, the new character he plays has deepened the Hastings family.

Damian may or may not eventually rename himself Damian Hastings. But even if he doesn’t, Nathan’s family expanded years after his death.

Hopefully, the time Nate says Damian needs isn’t long. Amy’s time on this earth is short. So, she needs her son to come to terms with what he’s learned and reconcile with her. He’ll have plenty of time to bond with Nate after that.
