The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) mind is set. She knows what she must do and thankfully shared this dangerous plan with her mother and grandmother.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), or more likely Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), can tell Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that Claire intends to end Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk).
There is no implication. Instead, the woman who was stolen at birth by Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) deranged aunt wants to remove her from the earth.
However, fans recall that this trio of Claire, Nikki, and Victoria were able to trap Jordan in a remote space last year successfully. Jordan’s eventual incarceration that resulted didn’t last, or was the last time she was imprisoned?
Claire feels that the justice system will never be able to stop her tormentor. She also wants to protect the Newman family from whatever harm Jordan will inflict if she remains on the loose.
Turning her over to the authorities wouldn’t bring this fabled family peace of mind because of her multiple escapes. Claire and the Newmans don’t know that Ian Ward (Ray Wise) is the mastermind behind Jordan’s crimes.
But they also don’t know that Jordan recently broke her alliance with Ian. Claire might learn that plot point and others if she is able to regain her great aunt’s trust again.
Ian believed Jordan would deliver for him. He didn’t anticipate that she would go rogue or quit their partnership. She did both.
It’s a problem that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is being held hostage in an unknown location. Jordan told Ian she made that move to create leverage, claiming to have planted evidence that pins her abduction on him. Whether the evidence aspect proves true is an intriguing question.
Considering his circumstances, Ian is desperate. But he is being forced to split vengeance between the Newmans and Jordan. That makes him vulnerable to mistakes.
Plus, he no longer has the luxury of having Jordan do his bidding. That factor means he will take risks and likely face coming consequences.
Soap operas are filled with unexpected characters dying. There are also plenty of circumstances, the overwhelming majority of which involve the villain perishing.
So, Ian could be killed off as part of this terrific storyline’s climax. With Ian being off-screen for years, Wise’s return to the cast may have been intended as a farewell from the start.
But killing off Jordan is debatable because Zenk’s character debuted in late 2023, which means she could have more comebacks if desired. More shocking and impactful would be if both Jordan and Ian die and do so through their own doing. That would be a fitting outcome for these masterfully dastardly wretches.
