The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) has a plan. But so does Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and that’s the problem.
Brooke never anticipated being offered the Chief Executive Officer’s slot at Forrester Creations. She wouldn’t have asked Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) for this powerful position after the coup because Brooke believed it was wrong.
Confiding in Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) allowed Brooke to unburden herself. That dialogue was also a helpful plot push that gave Lang’s character someone to talk to and enlightened the audience about what might come next.
Carter knows what he’s doing. He wanted to avoid media speculation and industry uncertainty by naming Brooke CEO.
He also wanted Brooke to livestream the announcement herself. It makes sense to have Brooke return to a position she once held following the great success that Brooke’s Bedroom Revival is enjoying.
But this move also allows Carter to project stability to the outside world when anyone would believe internal tension is high. Plus, who else has the gravitas to replace the combination of Ridge and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)?
Ridge assumed that Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) would provide a quick legal remedy. But the attorney he has a secret agreement with didn’t offer it. Instead, Justin affirmed that Carter was legally in charge.
How might Ridge respond if Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) wasn’t part of this mix?
Well, he wouldn’t have any reason to berate Hope verbally. That means Brooke wouldn’t have been hurt, and Ridge likely wouldn’t have felt the need to leave her home.
He likely wouldn’t have been open to rebounding into Taylor Hayes’ (Rebecca Budig) arms as he did in the Forrester mansion. Brooke wouldn’t have seen Taylor with Ridge’s shirt on and correctly assumed they’d romantically reconnected.
So, plenty would be different if Hope and Carter weren’t together. But they are, and that’s a significant reason why this supercharged storyline has room to flourish well into the new year.
Returning FC to Forrester control is morally right. Whether that proves good for business will be determined in the coming weeks and months.
Carter’s idea to transform the fashion business into a luxury brand conglomerate might work. But if it doesn’t, then FC will face serious headwinds sooner rather than later.
Brooke can’t be sure that her plan to convince Carter to return power to the Forresters will help her and her daughter. That outcome might help FC retain its hold in the fashion world, but Hope’s actions won’t soon be forgotten, and Ridge has convinced himself that Brooke’s betrayal is real and irreversible.
