Chance recently asked to be reinstated to the Genoa City, Wisconsin, Police Force and specifically requested to be assigned to Heather’s case. Heading it means he has to follow all leads.

But Summer sees it differently. She told the love of her life, Kyle, that Chance doesn’t believe Daniel is guilty. Lanier’s character also questioned how she could be with a man who would arrest her brother for this charge.

Kyle’s descent into depravity began months ago. He decided that Summer’s backing of her mother reflected a betrayal of marital trust.

Devoted viewers recall that, like Kyle’s mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) faked her death. She put Summer in a compromising position by later revealing herself as alive during the period when Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) was being framed for Phyllis’ phony demise.

So, Kyle held Summer accountable for not telling him that news immediately. He learned it on his own and used that event to divorce her.

Many months later this one-time happy family has rectified itself. While remarriage didn’t happen, Kyle and Summer are at peace and are working productively to raise their son, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Claire Newman In The Equation

Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) came into Kyle’s life a while after he ended his marriage to Summer. Her breath of fresh air proved to be exactly what he needed.

Digitally skipping to now, Claire and Kyle are romantically involved but haven’t established a committed relationship. Summer recognizes her rediscovered cousin’s importance in her ex-husband’s life and values Claire’s role in helping Harrison.

It’s a well-written triangle because of Claire’s unique backstory and the dovetail effect of having her and Harrison survive Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) kidnapping.

Kyle was merely fond of Claire but is honestly open to pursuing a relationship with her. He’s purposely slow-walking because he understands Claire’s backstory and knows he’s the first guy she genuinely cares for.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman’s Backstory Is An Advantage

Summer’s history with Kyle runs deep. The fact that she embraced the son he had with another woman when they weren’t together also speaks volumes about her character.

Kyle will always care for Summer. Whether he allows himself to fall back in love with her is a different matter.

Chance and Summer are committed but have yet to be involved long. They aren’t engaged and have no marriage plans.

Summer’s comment to Kyle about having doubts about Chance lets Mealor’s character know that she’s open to a potential reconciliation, though neither character is there yet. So, this mid-fall storyline offers the potential for the four character’s lives to change dramatically shortly.
