Jordan’s chat with Ian inside their seedy hotel room on the outskirts of Genoa City, Wisconsin, was needed. Viewers learned that he was freed based on the joke of him being rehabilitated.
Ian laughed at whoever foolishly made that happen and added that he would break the law when needed. Jordan let him know that they are partners rather than him being her boss.
Fans heard Jordan mention an identity switch, which implies some disguised person was swapped for Zenk’s character in the maximum-security prison. She’s not been released like Ian was.

So, Ian was hauled off to jail by Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) years ago. Burton’s run on Y&R included him learning that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was his mother and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) was his father.
Ian was initially believed to have been forcibly involved with Nikki and, therefore, Dylan’s father. That proved untrue and served as the basis for much drama that eventually led to Wise’s character not being seen since 2016
Wise’s performances were very impactful during his two-year (2014 through 2016) tenure. He was awarded the Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Special Guest Performer in a Drama Series category in 2015.
The last viewers knew Ian was in prison, paying for his many crimes. However, Wise’s dialogue with Zenk informed viewers that Ian was released from jail. However, he doesn’t want to reveal his presence yet and is having Jordan do the leg work in their scheme against the Newmans. The mystery of how they met also needs to be presented.

Sharon is the poorest of souls. Based on what the audience can imply, it appears that Ian and Jordan used Sharon. Case’s character seems to be the victim rather than the criminal in this storyline.
A key plot point involves Sharon’s blackouts, with the plausible assumption that Ian and Jordan manipulated her into believing she was responsible for Heather’s demise, body dump into the river, and Daniel’s frame.
A scenario where viewers learn that Sharon’s medication was manipulated feels plausible and believable, with further reveals needed to confirm this projection.
While Sharon and her loved ones are suffering mightily, a day is coming when their fears will be allayed, and Daniel, Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant), and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will learn the truth about Heather’s death. They will also learn how Phyllis crashed. But it’s a long way from here to there in GC.
