The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Carter Walton’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) increasingly aggressive approach to his superiors naturally makes Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) bristle. This radical demeanor shift is incomprehensible.
Ridge is baffled, but Steffy believes she knows what’s happening. Wood’s character thinks Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) has gotten inside Carter’s head but, unlike the audience, has no idea how far he and Hope have gone.
But Carter knew he was in danger of being discovered. Ridge spotted Carter’s name and initials in the manager’s section of the Legally Licensed Corporation documents.
No matter how she feels, Steffy should not have spoken derisively about Hope. Doing so reinforces Carter’s belief that she disrespects Hope and her family. He’s not wrong, but his pointed analysis is far too provocative.
Like Hope, if Carter finds himself out of work shortly, he will have witnessed comments that could be used in a legal battle. He can truthfully acknowledge having witnessed Steffy’s subjective comments about Hope’s demeanor.
The above means Hope might have grounds for a case against Steffy for wrongful termination. If not, she and Carter will have emotional fuel to fight Forrester Creations in the fashion field by employing his luxury brand strategy.
It won’t be easy for Ridge to realize that Carter betrayed his trust. But that will happen unless his Chief Operating Officer creates a believable excuse for his actions.
Knowingly deceiving the man who he called a brother would be inconceivable. But it was also shocking when Carter was revealed to have become involved with Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer).
In that soapy scenario, Eric Forrester (John McCook) was betrayed but didn’t care because he was looking to rid himself of his wife and move back to Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), which he did.
In this instance, Carter’s purposely deceptive actions aren’t being made to take a woman. Instead, he wants to take control of FC because he wants to impose his vision of the company on the family that founded and runs the business.
Hope has little to lose at this point. She’s already lost her reputation and role as the head of Hope for the Future.
In contrast, Carter could break the trust of the Forrester family and lose his job. In addition, he could be sued. That sequence of events could cause a retaliatory legal strikeback.
Imagine a scene where Carter urges Hope to sue FC for being wrongfully fired after he’s been fired himself. It’s easy and would be great daytime drama.
