General Hospital Spoilers report Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is gone, and there isn’t a shred of evidence that suggests any of the rumors calling for her return to the soap are accurate.
As Dante Falconeri (Dominiic Zamprogna) tries to pick up the pieces of his shattered life and move forward, having Lulu Falconeri (Alexa Havins) wake up to walk back into it is the last thing he was expecting.
This was an occasion that he always thought would be more momentous, and now it’s laced with grief and gray skies in the wake of Sam’s death. As he struggles to process the loss and gain all at the same time, what is his life going to look like moving forward?
Dante is struggling with picturing any way that his life moves forward after this tragedy. He’s been paralyzed by grief and pep talks from the likes of Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) aren’t helping him get over the hump, however well-intended the people who care about him are.
His mom, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), seems to be doing a better job at letting Dante just sit in his grief and process it right now. After all, it’s only been a few days since Sam’s death.
With Lulu waking up, it’s going to set Dante’s world on a whole new axis, and he may not be ready for the feeling it brings forth just yet.
At the same time, Lulu could throw everyone for a loop after waking up. Her state of mind will dictate much of how the relationship with Dante progresses.
It’s not all on him, despite the way we’ve been talking about her for years. She could wake up feeling the exact same way she felt before she fell into this coma four years ago — in love with her ex-husband and ready to tell him the truth and shout it from the rooftops.
Or, she may wake up completely confused about what has transpired and needing time to process the years of everyones’ lives she has missed more so than how her heart feels about Dante.
Regardless of how Lulu feels, Dante may not be able to be present for her in the way that she needs right now. He’s going to be grieving over losing Sam for a long time, and that extends beyond his muddy feelings for his ex-wife.
Sure, a few years ago he was pining for her and wanted to try again. But now, he’s trying to keep his head above water knowing the life he had planned with Sam is never going to come to fruition.
He may even start to feel a bit of anger and unpleasantness toward Lulu for trading spaces with Sam in a sense. No, it’s not her fault, but grief isn’t always rational. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
