Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Ken Corday On 2025 Storylines – Less Sci-Fi, More Romance
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that head writer Ron Carlivati is no longer with the soap. While the reason for Carlivati’s firing wasn’t made clear, it was hinted that the Body & Soul storyline might have been part of it.
Fans have long been divided about storylines since the birth of soaps. However, fans have been disgruntled over the storylines for the past few years, so this might have been the nail in the coffin. Moving forward, executive producer Ken Corday teased what to expect in 2025 with the new writing team.
Ron Carlivati Fired
DOOL spoilers reveal that it was recently confirmed that Carlivati was no longer the head writer for the soap. While the reason for Carlivati’s firing wasn’t clear, it was hinted by more than one person that it was due to Body & Soul.
Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) both hinted that Body & Soul was the reason. At a recent red carpet event, Hall said that the Body & Soul storyline was “done.”
Carlivati is among the writers for the upcoming “Beyond the Gates.”
DOOL Spoilers: Ken Corday Interview
Then, Corday talked to Soaps.com about the soap’s 60th season. The executive producer teased what to expect in 2025 with the new writing team. Corday says there will be big changes in the upcoming season.
“We’re trying to root the show in much more of an interpersonal reality, with a return to romance and passion more than science fiction.”
Science fiction is what made DOOL stand out from other soaps. However, many fans are also growing weary of it. In forums and on social media, fans have been pretty vocal about what types of storylines they want to see.
Bill Hayes & Drake Hogestyn’s Deaths
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that two of DOOL’s biggest love stories came to a heartbreaking end. Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) passed away earlier this year.
There was also the bombshell that Drake Hogestyn (John Black) died. Stephen Nichols (Steve “Patch” Johnson) mentioned that Hogestyn is still talked about on set each day. Corday also had this to say about the deaths,
“This has been a very, very difficult year, losing Bill Hayes and Drake Hogestyn within seven months of each other.
That will drive us to do some very big shows toward the middle of next year. It’s difficult, but you endure, you move on and you see their legacy as their children and grandchildren move into the future.”
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: More Romance
While there will be fewer science fiction storylines in 2025, those will be filled with more romance and passion. So, fans, tell us who you want paired up and what changes you’d like to see.
