General Hospital spoilers report the fan base is loving the new side of Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) that seems to be shining through in her later years of life.

No one has ever confused Tracy with being too soft. Anything but, in fact. When she lost Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), that only hardened her heart more. She was bitter and resentful.

She came back to Port Charles looking for anything and everything she could meddle in just to distract herself. But something happened when she met the late Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) that changed her life — and changed her. Will she revert back to her old self, or is this new and softer Tracy here to stay?

Tracy was ready to argue when she first met Gregory. They were a match made in Heaven in some ways. In others, not so much. But she learned a lot about herself just trying to match his wit and enjoying his company. They were more alike than they were different, at their cores. Falling for him and watching him disappear into illness was difficult, but she handled it with grace.

GH Spoilers Claim Brook Lynn Pulled Her Through

Perhaps watching her granddaughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), struggle with her own inner demons and come out of it a better person somehow inspired Tracy to do the same.

The last few years have been an interesting time for Brook Lynn. She was far from a saint when she met Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

She almost lost him for good because of her lies — and well, her instinct to lie. But he gave her the chance to redeem herself and she rose to the occasion. Maybe Tracy was watching more closely than we thought.

Numerous family members and friends have benefitted from Tracy’s kindness and generosity over the years, but during the most recent, she’s far less inclined to ask for credit.

In fact, she wanted her name to be kept off the books when she offered to pay for any expenses related to Gregory’s medical care, death, or funeral services.

The time she has spent with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) playing games and riding horses have shown us a more playful and down-to-Earth side of Tracy.

Her affection for James West (Gary James Fuller), Violet Finn (Jophielle Love), and Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) showcase a level of patience and tolerance she never had before.
