General Hospital spoilers claim Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has been struggling with the realities of her life over the last week. Learning that her daughter, Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi), may die was traumatic enough.
Waiting through the unbearable moments as the doctors worked to save her felt like an eternity. Hearing that the baby didn’t make it — a trauma the entire family now has to grieve — especially Kristina, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), and Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) — was a near-fatal blow.
In other words, Alexis is exhausted. She’s depleted. She has no one to lean on, and the fans are asking why. Where the heck is Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) and why hasn’t she been by Alexis’ side this whole time?
Not only are Alexis and Diane as thick as thieves, but Diane has always been in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) corner. She’s not just his famed attorney. She’s a close family friend.
When Alexis and Sonny nearly lost their daughter and granddaughter, shouldn’t Diane have been at the hospital helping them keep their heads on straight and reminding them everything is going to be okay?
Instead of taking those photos to Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) right away, why didn’t Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) call on Sonny’s esteemed legal counsel and pull her into the equation for her astute opinion first? This just doesn’t track with any of their past behavior.
One might argue that Diane felt it was best to steer clear of the personal family situation in case she was needed later as legal representation, but since when has that ever mattered?
Would her having been present and hearing too much taint her opinion of the case or of Kristina? Sure, she does prefer to know as little as possible to defend her clients with a clear conscience.
In other words, if someone is guilty, Diane would rather not know while she fights to get them declared innocent. But no one was claiming Kristina was guilty of anything until a few days ago. So, where is Diane?
It sounds like this is yet another case of plot holes in the storyline, and the fans are growing tired of it. Every day, many of them lament the show needs new writers, but we’re all still tuning in, aren’t we?
By no means am I suggesting we stop doing that. But sometimes in the world of soaps, we have to gloss over the minor plot holes to focus on the big story ahead. It’s likely that Alexis is on her way to joining Diane’s legal practice.
It’s also likely that Diane will start to play a role in Sonny’s case against Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) for paying a pharmacist to tamper with his meds.
Could she have been a rock for Alexis during this time? Absolutely, but then what need would Alexis have for crying on Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) shoulder? You catch my drift?
Keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers to see what transpires as Ric heads back to town to take care of his grieving daughter and her mother.
