This new romantic comedy takes place in Costa Rica, so you know it will have a beautiful backdrop. Hallmark explains the movie as being about Emily, who has a broken heart.
She is trying to heal the best way that she can. She has recently been named the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding in Costa Rica. Of course, she knows how great this trip will be for her and is ready for the adventure.
When Emily gets to Costa Rica, she is shocked to find out that things aren’t exactly how she thought they would be. Emily’s friend gave her some precious items to hold on to for the wedding.
They are two heirloom wedding rings and they mean a lot to her friend. Emily’s bag, where she stored the rings, gets taken by monkeys and this makes Emily very worried.
Emily knows that she has to save this wedding for her friend and will do anything that she can to do so. Emily must come to terms with the best man at the wedding, Ryan.
The two of them do not get along. Ryan is a local tour guide and is very confident. He does tell Emily that he will help her out though. The two of them start to work together and they end up going on some crazy adventures to find these rings.
Ryan and Emily come to terms with the fact that they actually do have more in common than they once thought. The two of them are trying to save the wedding and from the looks of it, they will end up closer than they ever expected. Ryan will stop at nothing to help Emily.
A Costa Rican Wedding airs on the Hallmark Channel on August 17 at 8 p.m. EST. It will also premiere on Peacock 72 hours after the premiere.
