General Hospital Spoilers: Gio’s Paternity Scandal Derails Drew’s Campaign!

General Hospital spoilers tease that Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Matheson) recently shocked his friends and family by changing his last name from “Cain” to “Quartermaine”.

 even more surprising was the reason behind it. Drew announced at Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birthday party that he is running for Congress!

Drew has been mulling over the idea for the past several weeks and after mulling over all the pro’s and con’s, decided that he could do some real good in the elected position.

Drew’s campaign isn’t a sure thing. He’s going to have tough opposition who won’t hesitate to use Drew’s past against him. Drew was in prison just a year ago for Insider Trading.

Beyond that, he has a history of being mind controlled by the Cassadine Family. Drew is going to have to really work hard to make potential voters see past his history and focus instead on his platform.

Drew will also have to content with accusations of privilege. But Drew feels that his wealth can work in his favor, since he believes it proves he can’t be bought.

GH Spoilers – Gio Palmieri thinks Jason Morgan looks familiar

But Drew’s biggest obstacle to winning the election may be because of something he doesn’t even know about. As viewers know, Port Charles newcomer Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) believes his father died while deployed in Afghanistan.

His mother also died when Gio was very young. Recently, Gio claimed that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) looked familiar. While he couldn’t necessarily place where he knew Jason from, it’s possible Gio may have seen a picture of the man who fathered him.

But Gio has no idea that Jason and Drew are twins. Drew was in a terrible accident and had to have plastic surgery on his face but he used to look exactly the same as Jason.

Drew did serve in Afghanistan and was believed dead for awhile. He also has memory loss and can’t remember who he was before a few years ago.

It possible Drew fathered Gio and never ever knew him. This wouldn’t be the first time that happened. Drew also fathered Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) who sadly passed away a couple years ago.

Although would happily accept Gio as his son if it becomes a reality, it could harm his political ambitions.

Having two separate illegitimate children that he didn’t even raise could have a terrible impact on Drew’s political ambitions. And Drew is still single, he might come across as a playboy who doesn’t take anything seriously,
