Zach Roloff On Relationship With Dad Matt

The Little People, Big World star shared an update about his troubled relationship with his father Matt Roloff. Zach Roloff admitted that “nothing’s been fixed.”

During the May 23 episode of his and his wife Tori Roloff’s podcast, Raising Heights, Zach admitted his relationship with Matt is non-existent.

The father-and-son duo had a falling out after Matt refused to sell a portion of the family farm to Zach and Tori. Zach also argued with Matt over his relationship with his fiance Caryn Chandler.

He didn’t support the news of his father’s engagement. The two couldn’t see eye-to-eye, which led to the destruction of their bond.

“The show ended, the filming ended, and you kind of just give yourself some space,” Zach Roloff explained. “But the show airs six months later and it kind of brings up some old wounds.”

“That’s the thing that I don’t think that a lot of people recognize,“ Tori added. “A lot of this stuff was almost a year ago. And so it’s like a lot of this dust has actually settled and it’s just recently that it’s been brought back up.”

Zach Roloff admitted that their family issues aren’t resolved. He feels that “time might heal” old wounds. His wife says she hopes and prays for a reconciliation. However, that’s not happening anytime soon. The couple still wants their children to have a relationship with their grandfather no matter what.

Tori Roloff Talks Boundaries

The podcast episode brought up criticism from the LBPW fans. Tori Roloff took to her Instagram Stories to defend her husband’s estranged relationship with his father.

She argued that they’re setting boundaries. LBPW fans argued that the couple is holding a grudge against his father and should just forgive him.

“Forgiveness and boundaries are two completely separate things. For everyone saying we need to forgive: we did a long time ago… we hold no grudges here.” Tori explained. “However, it has caused us to create boundaries.”

She insists they’re not keeping their kids away from Matt Roloff. The TLC shared that he’s allowed to see him anytime he wants. Other LBPW fans defended him on Reddit. One user wrote: “Everybody is entitled to set boundaries and that includes grandparents.”

However, not all fans feel that way. Some argued that Tori and Zach Roloff are bitter over the fallout of Roloff Farm. Their relationship might’ve been different if they were granted ownership. One user argued: “They’re bent because they weren’t gifted the farm.”
