General Hospital Spoilers hint Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was so furious with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and then, all of a sudden, she wasn’t.
That’s what the fans are saying as they lament over Sam’s continued waffling over the men in her life. Once upon a time, the sun rose and set with Jason.
Then boom! She felt unsafe given his line of work and wanted to sever all ties and get a divorce to protect herself and her children from the mafia. Later, she managed to fall in love with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
She felt better knowing he was on the right side of the law, but years into their relationship she’s now questioning the safety of his line of work, too.
Angry with Jason when he appeared back from the dead without explanation, she never even asked where he had been or why he abandoned his family.
She just assumed that he did so of his own volition — a move that was out of character for him and she should know that. Now that she does know better, she’s eager to help her ex instead of banishing him from the family — although he’s no safer to be around than he ever was before.
With questions lingering in Sam’s mind about her future with Dante, could her drive to help Jason be rising from deeper insecurities that she may have let go of her ex too soon and now has a second chance with him?
Sam talked through her anxieties with Dante after learning he was not going to resign from the police force after all.
It came as a crushing blow to her, even though she felt she should’ve known better than to get her hopes up that he would really go through with such a bold and life-changing move.
Deciding it wouldn’t benefit her, Dante, or their children for them to split up just because she’s worried about him being shot again — or worse — they’re taking a stab at making it work while Sam learns to accept that Dante’s work comes with a certain element of danger. Can she though?
Sam’s worst nightmare came true when Dante was shot. She truly thought he may not have survived that event, and now she’s even more terrified of having to go through that again.
Maybe she’s trying to learn from past mistakes with Jason and not cut her losses in advance just to opt out of the possibility that she might get hurt.
But word on the street is Dante’s work as a cop is going to be challenging in the months ahead as the focus turns to his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
If Dante can’t remain unbiased and does compromise himself to help his dad, that could be the last straw for his relationship with Sam.
If Sam changed as quickly as she did once before, there’s no telling what lies ahead and how quickly she could revert back to loving the man she once thought wasn’t right for her because he stayed in the mob.
The anxiety of never knowing if he was coming home each night was too much for her to bear, but perhaps Sam will grow fond of the FBI informant version of Jason that is safer and not wrapped up in business with Sonny.
Of course, just because Sam might glance at Jason once again doesn’t mean he’ll return her feelings. As for the fans, they’re more keen on a reboot between him and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) than he and Sam.
