King Charles ITCHING To Get Back To Role As Head of State

King Charles is reportedly pushing to return to the royal frontline despite cancer treatments that leave him “tired.” Even though he is said to be responding positively to the treatments, his medical team isn’t sure he is ready for such a huge step as traveling all the way to Australia to carry out a royal engagement.

But the monarch is “raring to go” and unless his health takes a hit, aides believe that the trip to Australia later this year is a done deal.

Here’s what we know.

King Charles To Accompany Queen Camilla To Visit Australia As Part of A Series of Commonwealth Visits During His Reign

Palace aides have already scheduled an autumn visit for the King and Queen Camilla. Coming up in a few months time, the couple will visit Australia, New Zealand and Samoa as part of the Commonwealth visits.

It will see the King sit through 21-hour flights over 20,000 miles – the most he’s traveled since he became King.
At the moment, due to the King’s indifferent health, Buckingham Palace has maintained that “nothing is ruled in or out.”

However, an insider speaking to The Mirror revealed that the King is enthusiastic and ready to make the big step, especially since his Easter outing went so well. “The King is raring to go after a significant amount of time off due to his cancer diagnosis,” they said.

“Although his doctors are keeping an eye on his health, he’s itching to take the reins and get back to his public role as Head of State. He’s over the moon with the way treatment has gone and supercharging plans for Australia, New Zealand and Samoa.”

Even if the October tour does go on, there’s no way it would cover as much grounds as the originally planned one, since the King would obviously need breaks to keep him from over-exerting himself.

As of right now, the late Queen Elizabeth remains the only serving sovereign to visit Australia, doing it a total of 16 times during her reign. Charles obviously plans to follow in his mother’s footsteps.
