General Hospital spoilers claim Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) was furious with Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) the last time she saw him.
The way he took off to escape any chance of persecution left Elizabeth less than impressed and holding the bag for their crimes. In the time that Nikolas has been gone, Elizabeth has managed to mend her relationship with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) — which was going down in flames thanks to her lies to protect Nikolas.
Now that he’s back in the picture and likely headed to prison, will Elizabeth find it all too difficult to hold out on forgiving him? Could she jeopardize her relationship with Finn all over again for the betterment of Nikolas and his baby boy?
Learning that Nikolas confessed to his crimes and isn’t running from the truth about his past anymore was quite an eye-opening moment for Elizabeth.
She arrived at Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place in a panic, worried she would have to testify against Nikolas — right in front of him. Hearing that he’s done the hard work for her was quite a relief, and that’s all she thought of it at the time.
But in the days following her conversation with Laura, Elizabeth may find herself softening up on Nikolas and realizing she’s not so angry with him anymore.
Elizabeth and Nikolas go way back, and for a moment during their criminal escapade, we thought they might reunite as more than just friends who were breaking the law together.
It was clear that Elizabeth’s relationship with Finn took a back seat to whatever her old friend needed from her, and we have to wonder if that may still be true on some level.
Watching Nikolas come clean and take responsibility for his actions is something Elizabeth never thought she would witness, and it may lead to her questioning if her old pal is a changed man — and someone she could love again.
More importantly, Elizabeth is going to see the way Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) struggle with parenthood in this day and age. Kevin has almost zero experience in this department, and despite looking forward to raising Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), he’s going to find out how much work it is for a guy his age.
As Laura is forced to admit her commitment to being the Mayor of Port Charles makes her less of the mother figure she wants to be to Ace, Elizabeth just might be the next best thing to him living with a blood relative.
But taking Ace in would mean rebuilding her relationship with Nikolas, and that could be a move that spells a sudden death to her relationship with Finn.
Will Elizabeth be forced to choose between them, and if so, will she have the courtesy to let Finn know in advance this time? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
