General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) might kidnap Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay) but Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) will blame Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
Spencer will suspect that Esme has gotten her memories back and her old self has returned, and suspect Esme ran off with the child.
It will be Laura Collins (Genie Francis) who actually makes the missing persons report on Esme and Ace, after Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) reports she didn’t show up for work.
Ace is always in the onsite daycare when Esme is at work, and a sudden absence will alarm Laura, knowing that it’s not like Esme. Laura is helping Esme with her rent in her and Ace’s new place the way it is, she can’t afford to take
Laura has the spare key to the apartment and is Esme’s in case of emergency contact so she goes to the apartment. All of Esme’s and Ace’s things are there, but they are not, and she’s not letting forty-eight hours go by before filing a missing persons report-she pushes it through.
Esme is Kevin Collins’ (Jon Lindstrom) niece and Ace is Spencer’s brother so she has to tell Kevin and Spencer; Spencer suspects Esme’s memory and the old Esme are back.
Kevin tries to explain that even if she is starting to remember, a traumatic memory block, which is what he’s sure she has, doesn’t bring all memory back at once.
There was no sign of a head injury when she first surfaced, or other physical trauma like there was with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) or Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Laura feels the same way but Spencer’s adamant that Esme must have gone on the run with Ace-but Laura doesn’t agree with Spencer. She reminds him that a mother can’t legally be charged with kidnapping her son when she’s the custodial parent.
Soon, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) arrive, and begin asking questions of Laura.
She admits she went to their apartment and looked around, and nothing was missing but them-but her fingerprints will be there, Dante assures her that those fingerprints would be overlooked.
Family members of missing persons usually start the investigation so their fingerprints are expected to be there-Spencer interrupts, in spite of Laura’s telling him to be quiet.
No one except Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) suspect Nikolas is back in town; so instead of including Nikolas kidnapping them in the investigation, it’s only Esme.
But even at that, Dante and Chase approach the missing persons investigation as exactly that and no one thinks to look for evidence of Nikolas’ kidnapping Esme and Ace.
