General Hospital Spoilers imply Mac Scorpio (John J. York) could be in for a major health scare in the new year, and it just might bring to light a year-long secret that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) never intended to get out.

Being Mac’s son is far from the worst thing that’s ever happened to him, but Cody still doesn’t feel like he can tell the truth now. He’s come so far in trying to right his wrongs and be a better person.

The last thing he wants to do is hurt anyone, or rehash why he lied — which wouldn’t paint him in a very good light at all. But just how far is Cody willing to take this secret, and will he let it stand between him and his father as he watches him wither away?

The fans should look forward to York’s return to the screen. He is battling some serious health problems behind the scenes, but he is actively pursuing recovery as he fights two forms of cancer.

When he does come back to the screen, we suspect Mac is going to have his own health battle — and that could be what brings the truth about his paternal connection to Cody to light.

In the interim, it’s going to be a tough road ahead as Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) continues to push for more transparency than she was given. Never try to play a PI; it won’t work out well.

When Mac comes back from Argentina, it’s hard to fathom what he might bring with him. Will it be mere information, or an infection requiring the likes of Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) to keep him alive?

Mac could end up in dire need of a transplant or transfusion that only a blood family member can supply. If Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) isn’t a match, he could be up the river without a paddle.

Of course, Cody will end up being the only person who might be able to save Mac’s life, and Felicia might suspect that he is all along. Will Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) be the person to nudge Cody in the right direction before his father pays the ultimate price?

General Hospital Spoilers — A Life-Saving Effort

In a way, it’s sad to think Cody would even need such a nudge to save his dad’s life, but he may be terrified that he could lose Mac altogether after he tells him what he’s done and why he did it — all for money.

But if we had to guess, we’d bet on Mac and Felicia being more than understanding. They’ve watched Cody transform into a very different person since that paternity test came back.

Perhaps he was fooling himself all along thinking he had to earn the right to be good enough to be Mac’s son. Either way, the result will be Mac living a long and happy life with his family — including his new son.
