General Hospital Spoilers: Ava’s Sage Advice Leads Trina To Reconsider Spencer’s Feelings

General Hospital Spoilers spill Ava Jerome (Maura West) has a special place in her heart for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).

Being somewhat of a surrogate mother to Trina has helped Ava to battle her own demons and rise above her past mistakes — wanting to be a good example for some the way she wasn’t for her own daughter, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).

So when Trina came to Ava recently, angered and upset by a fight with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), she imparted what wisdom she could to help the young couple get back on track.

Trina wasn’t ready to speak to Spencer yet, but she was starting to know how she would when she felt it was time. Prepared to reconsider his feelings about Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), Trina will bring the most rational version of herself to the table, but Spencer just can’t meet her halfway.

Trina feels like she may have overreacted before, even though she doesn’t like being given ultimatums. The truth is, no part of her wants her relationship with Spencer to be over. That’s why this hurts so much.

She sees Esme as a potential threat to their future and she needs Spencer to safely part ways with his ex in a rational manner. Unfortunately, he’s nowhere near being able to do that.

GH Spoilers Suggest Her Beau Isn’t Letting Go

Perhaps the most startling part of this for Trina is that Spencer isn’t even trying to detach from the situation. He has grown accustomed to being in Ace’s everyday life and doesn’t want that to change.

Trina can’t really blame him, but she also recognizes the decision isn’t up to him. Esme is Ace’s mother and she has every right to start fresh and live her life with him the way she sees fit.

Spencer is being irrational if he thinks he’s going to live with Ace forever. But that does seem to be the way he’s thinking and there is nothing Trina can do to change that.

General Hospital Spoilers — What Does The Future Hold?

Trina might be ready to listen to Spencer’s concerns and take his feelings into account, but he isn’t willing to do the same for her. Moreover, he’s willing to put himself and Trina through quite a lot to hang onto his ex — all the while claiming it’s only because she is the package deal his baby brother comes with.
