Josh Duggar Gets His Sentence Shortened

Josh Duggar went behind bars for being in possession of CSAM-related content. Currently, he serves a 12-year sentence in Seaogoville FCI in Texas. At one stage, he broke the rules of the prison by illegally possessing a phone. So, he got time in the part of the camp reserved for punishment. Additionally, his time on good behavior was moved back for his release. However, he recently got some time reduced.

Josh Duggar Maintains His Innocence

Jim Bon Duggar, his daughter-in-law, Anna, and Josh all believe that he was targeted for prosecution and that he is innocent. Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting fans don’t support the theory. Neither do some of his siblings like Jill Dillard. Of course, his cousin Amy and her mom, Deanna think he deserves to be right where he is. So does the court, as recently, his appeal for a new hearing was denied twice. Unless his dad forks out a  lot more money it seems that the only road open is an appeal to the Supreme Court.

As it stands right now, Josh Duggars serves a much shorter sentence than TLC fans hoped for. Did you know that potentially, he might have been given a sentence of up to 20 years in prison? Actually, many people feel that he deserves to stay inside until his aged body finally rots. Nonetheless, that’s not the way the justice system works. Certainly, it’s not a popularity contest. So, when it comes to sentence reduction, every prisoner is on the same playing field.

Josh Duggar Gets A Shortening Of His Sentence

Initially, the former TLC star was due for release on October 10, 2032. By then, his kids will be grown up, or at least already be in their teens. So, the seven children grow up without a dad. At the moment, it also looks like his wife, Anna will remain loyal to him. Although he did get a reduction and his days in prison were moved forward toward release, it’s not likely to make a massive impact on the time the family will remain apart.

Josh Duggar, according to records sourced by InTouch Weekly, will now leave prison on October 2, 2032. Good behavior can affect the length of the incarceration. Perhaps he’s behaving himself in Seagoville. Other things can also impact the time served. For example, under a special rehabilitation program, both Julie and Todd Chrisley saw months sliced off. Additionally, it’s possible that more time might be reduced.

Unrepentant

Josh Duggar seems to be totally unrepentant about his crime involving the abuse of children. Although he didn’t abuse them himself, or make movies of that happening, he is considered a risk because he watched that sort of content. To this day, he still claims that someone else downloaded the content on his business computer.

Do you think that the 19 Kids and Counting alum deserves to get some time reduced? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. And, come back here for everything happening with the former cast of TLC’s Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting.
